ACUPUNCTURE AND FERTILITY

Acupuncture dramatically increases pregnancy rates by improving circulation to the ovaries and to the uterus. The combination of reproductive fertility treatments with Acupuncture Thera P™ yields the best results for women wanting to get pregnant.

Acupuncture for fertility is becoming increasingly popular with women because it minimizes the undesired side effects and built-up toxicity from invasive procedures and drug therapies, so it is completely safe and natural. It dramatically increases pregnancy rates because it improves circulation to the ovaries-making for healthier eggs-and to the uterus, which increases the strength of the lining so it can hold the eggs to full-term. Using Acupuncture Thera P™ can help a woman achieve her life long dream of having a child.

Acupuncture Thera P™ is able to increase the chances of pregnancy through natural conception, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intra Uterine Injections (IUI), and other Assisted Reproductive Therapies (ART). It has been clinically shown to:

  • Regulate and stabilize hormone levels
  • Increase blood flow to the uterus and ovaries by lowering impedance
  • Help produce more follicles
  • Thicken the endometrial lining
  • Reduce the chance of miscarriage
  • Strengthen the immune system and the overall health of the body
  • Absorb nutrients and maintain ideal weight
  • Reduce stress
  • Facilitate relaxation
  • Improve the quality of sleep
  • Have NO side effects - does not introduce toxicity to you and your baby

Acupuncture Thera P™ significantly increases your chances of conception if your infertility is caused by:

  • Amenorrhea
  • Irregular Menstrual Cycles
  • Premature Ovarian Failure
  • Poor Egg Quality
  • Fallopian Tube Factors
  • Elevated FSH
  • Luteal Phase Defect LPD
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
  • Unresponsive Endometrium
  • Immunological Factors
  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
  • Stress
  • Cervical / Uterine Factor
  • Ovulation Factors

In clinical trials, acupuncture reproductive medicine has been shown to significantly increase conception rates and decrease miscarriage rates. Here are some key points from recent studies:

  • A randomized, controlled clinical study showed that the pregnancy rates more than doubled (15.6% to 33.6%) for IVF/ICSI treatment when acupuncture was given.

  • A randomized, controlled clinical study showed that miscarriage rates decreased (15.4% to 11.8%) for IVF/ICSI treatment when acupuncture was given.

  • A randomized, controlled clinical study showed that implantation rates almost tripled (5.9% to 14.2%) for IVF/ICSI treatment when acupuncture was given.

  • A report published in the journal Fertility and Sterility conducted a study of 160 women undergoing IVF. Of the 160 women, half received standard In Vitro Fertilization, while the other half were given acupuncture treatments before and after. The findings were that the pregnancy rate for the group receiving acupuncture group was 42.5%, compared to the group which did not receive the therapy, where the rate was 26.3%.

"I thought I would never get pregnant. I was going through IVF and I decided to try acupuncture. I found it relaxing and gave me some down town. The Team at Acupuncture Thera P™ devised a plan that coordinated with my drug and treatment protocol. As I got closer to the retrieval that maximized the blood flow to my uterus. I also came the day before and day after my transfer. I finally am pregnant and I still can't believe it. I would recommend this spa to anyone."

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine, and has been used in China for more than 5,000 years. It involves the use of sharp, thin needles that are inserted into specific areas of the body to adjust and alter the body's energy flow as well as to treat a wide variety of illnesses and health conditions.

Acupuncture is based on the belief that living beings have a vital energy, called "chi," that circulates through twelve invisible energy lines known as meridians within the body. Each meridian is associated with a different organ system. An imbalance in the flow of chi throughout a meridian is how disease begins.

Our acupuncturists at Skin Thera P™ insert needles into specified areas of the body along meridian lines to restore the balance to the flow of chi. It is used to open or adjust the flow of chi throughout the organ system, which will strengthen the body and prompt it to heal itself.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Acupuncture needles are metallic, solid, and hair-thin. People experience acupuncture differently, but most feel no or minimal pain as the needles are inserted. Patients sometimes report pinching sensations while others report pleasant sensations as the body experiences healing. Some people are energized by treatments, while others feel relaxed.

Is acupuncture safe?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved acupuncture needles for use by licensed practitioners in 1996. The National Institutes of Health released a consensus statement during the same year supporting acupuncture for the treatment of a variety of conditions including tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome.

How long are the needles inserted?

This varies with each patient and ailment. Some require a quick in and out insertion to clear the problem and strengthen one's health, while other conditions might require needles inserted up to an hour or more.

How long does a visit last and how often do I have to come?

Generally, a visit lasts about thirty minutes. The number of visits varies as well, with some conditions improved in one or two sessions and others requiring a series of six or more visits over the course of weeks or months.
